Forest Ridge/Henderson Heights
Forest Ridge was started in 1964 by developer and builder Hugh Edwards. It has approximately 246 single family homes. It is bordered on the north by Hermitage Subdivision, on the east by Hogtown Creek and Ring Park, on the south by NW 16th Avenue and on the west by Maple Hill subdivision. The main entrance is on NW 16th Avenue at NW 22nd Street.
Henderson Heights is on the SW side of Forest Ridge. The subdivision was started by Joseph Henderson in 1965 and consists of approximately 30 single family homes. It is bordered on the north by the water tower, on the east by Forest Ridge, on the south by NW 16th Avenue, and on the west by Maple Hill subdivision.
We have Rockwood Park, the size of two lots, at the NE end of 22nd Street, just before the entrance to Hermitage. The park belongs to the Alachua Conservation Trust.
Forest Ridge and Henderson Heights residents view themselves as one neighborhood.
